We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. I would suggest CalArts for animation
Art Center college of design for graphic design & illustration
Savannah Art and Design is friendly towards animated stuffs (like our styles, I think)
I heard RISD and Pratt are rather good schools too (design schools), but Academy of Art has some good and bad rep too D: If you're planning to go to an art college, prepare to dish out a CRAP LOAD of money. Calarts is 40,000 a year. Art centers around 35,000. Academy of Art is around 35,000 too, I think.
I really love the picture you've done on your profile page and I'm liking the hand!dandelion (the powers in UR hands! XD) picture. I would suggest doing some foundational stuff though because that's what they're looking in a portfolio the most. If you have kickass artz that can show your potential and your foundational skillz (linework/shading/values/color studies), that would probably be the best. Also, some sketchbook stuffs you've done in the past (or suddenly make~!) and drawings from real life (like drawing in a cafe) gives you + points, methinks.
Also, I wouldn't necessarily put in any anime kind of stuff in there because I heard they really, really, REALLY don't like it o_o;; (No seriously. Imagine all the anime they're forced to see with every portfolio. I was going to add one in mine, but decided against it)
That's my two cents~! Sorry if you knew all of this beforehand. I'm going back to hiding now! *hides*
